Tips & tricks
Here's a rundown of tips that will keep you on your feet. Did we miss something? Email us your secret! Be sure to include your Twitter username if you have one.
- Tap quickly for a short, low jump; tap and hold for a long, high one.
- Moderate your pace by running into a crate every now and then. This gives you more time to anticipate so you won't need ninja reflexes. Make sure you don't lose too much speed, as you might not make your next jump!
- Bomb drops are announced by a loud pop while jumping to the next rooftop. The bomb will hit the roof after the one you jumped to. If you have trouble hearing the pops, go to your settings screen, turn down the music volume and boost the sound effects volume.
- A bomb always lands in the dead center of a rooftop.
-
Leap early, land early! This gives you more time to deal with obstacles and plan your next jump.
- Fix your eyes somewhat ahead of your character. Ask any Guitar Hero expert. He'll tell you.
- You blink. You die.
- Rest your eyes. Have a cupcake. Canabalt-induced eyestrain will not make you a better player.
